I remember Leslie from grade school at Windermere Blvd, she lived up the street from me on Windermere. I recall she was always so nice and we really enjoyed playing together. I fondly remember that her mother had taught her how to knit, and she showed me how to as soon as she got the hang of it. Her sister's names were Judith and Leah, and I thought all 3 had the most beautiful names!

I didn't know she had passed away, I wonder how and when. Janis (Anderson) Becker

I too remember Leslie from Windermere. And I do remember her sister Leah. I am not sure but I think she was in a car accident when she was in her 20s.

So sad that we have lost so many. They will all be with us in spirit.

Leslie was tragically killed in a car accident about 1979. I still remember my mother's phone call to tell me. We were close in high school. I think of her graceful, gentle, musical spirit often.

Leslie was a kind and wonderful person who gave me my first guitar lesson.  I loved listening to her sing and play folk music on the guitar. She was a beautiful and talented member of our class and I always appreciated her friendship and kindness.

By accident of the alphabet I sat next to Leslie in homeroom for six years. I just remember admiring her so much. She seemed to have everything smarts, pretty, a cheerleader, musically talented and a very nice humble person.  I was shocked that she passed away so soon. Only the good die young.

Leslie was a dear friend. We played guitars and sang together throughout Jr. and Sr. high school in churches, fellowship halls, retirement homes etc. Every time I hear Simon & Garfunkel's Scarborough Fair, I remember Leslie. We sang it countless times. She was so accomplished. The last time I saw Leslie was at her wedding to Tony Mangia. She was the most beautiful bride...simply radiating happiness at Christ the King Church on Lamarck Drive in Snyder. Her untimely passing still sadly resonates within me, but the sorrow is surpassed by fond memories of a faithful, lovely friend. God blessed us for a little while with her dear heart............Betsy Wittlinger Romano

I know these messages were left a couple years ago, but I just happened to come across this.  I wanted to thank you all for these kind comments.  I am Leslie's niece.  I am the daughter of her sister Leah.  I unfortunately never got to meet Leslie, so it is so nice to hear other people speak so highly of her.  My middle name is Leslie after her, and my daughter is Leslie after her as well.  Unfortunately, my mom Leah is not alive anymore either, and didn't make it to meet and be Grandma to more than one grandchild, although she now has 5 grandchildren, with a 6th on the way.  Leslie's oldest sister, Judy, is doing well.  She lives here in Peoria, IL, and is very involved in my life.  She has 3 grandchildren and 2 more on the way, although I know she sees my Leslie as a pseudo-grandchild.  I'm not surprised that my Aunt Leslie was a great person.  My mom and Leslie were such good friends, and my mom is one of the best people I've known.  I'm looking forward to the day when I get to meet my aunt.  Thank you all for sharing your memories of her!
